Man Violates PPO Shows Up At Ex's House With Gun And Gets Shot By Phoenix Police Department

May 30th, 2021, in the area of 39th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
Officers responded to a report of a violation of an order of protection. When first officer arrived at the residence, he immediately encountered the suspect who pointed a gun at the officer. The officer and suspect exchanged gunfire, and the suspect was struck.

Officers provided first aid until Phoenix Fire personnel arrived and transported the suspect to nearby hospital for treatment. He remains hospitalized and will be booked into the Maricopa County Jail upon his release for charges related to this investigation.
