20210615 Change.Org - The Daily Summation

It is REALLY possible to get the "lay of the land" through petitions?

Can you honestly expect to get an untainted view of things by so doing?

Even if you can, is it reasonable to say even 100,000 people, are a representative sample of the 330,000,000 in a country?

To make things worse, how on EARTH do you keep undue, outside influence from sticking its nose under the tent flap on a site like change.org?

I submit that it's NOT POSSIBLE to do so.

I further maintain, even if you COULD, the relevance of the opinions of less than a TENTH OF A PERCENT of the population is probably NOT worth changing the world over.

That's why I decided to make the current edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics, about the site change.org, and those of similar ilk.

Please SERIOUSLY CONSIDER ignoring such sites (and not just from an "interactive" perspective, but even from a consumptive one).

You "voted" on a change.org petition? Gee I'm sorry! Forgive me while I TOTALLY IGNORE your minuscule smattering of humanity, telling me how I ought to behave.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
