20210614 Cramming Down - The Daily Summation

I've been married too many times (probably something that'll never happen again). That said, my "first" father-in-law was born and raised in the Republic of Korea, coming to the U. S. later in life.

I'm told, he was forced to fight for Japan in the Second World War (I may have gotten that wrong, but that's what I recall). That was one of many "wonderful" things that resulted from the Japanese having "control over" the R. O. K. in the time just prior to WWII.

Imagine not being able to "legally" write or speak in your native language--nor to be able to legally teach it to your children.

Imagine people being executed because the trains didn't run on time.

This is what "cramming down" in its most extreme forms, looks like to me.

You may think that's a fine thing. You'll forgive me if I vehemently disagree.

That's ONE OF THE REASONS I wanted to discuss cramming down, on the current edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

Cramming down is a HORRIBLY BAD IDEA pretty much ALWAYS.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
