U.S. Marines assigned to 9th Engineering Support Battalion and U.S. Navy Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 operate a Lightweight Water Purification System (LWPS) on W-174 Joint Okinawa Training Range Complex, an uninhabited island off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, as part of joint exercise Poseidon’s Watchtower, June 11, 2021. Poseidon’s Watchtower is a multi-domain exercise designed to simulate the establishment of Expeditionary Advanced Base operations through joint service integration. NMCB 4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States ready to support major combat operations, theater security, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief operations.
