Marvin the magpie can mimic 35 species of birds, bark like a dog and neigh like a horse but now he can even squeal like a fire engine.

The bird has seen so many trucks race past his nest with their sirens blaring he can now sing the tune.

The incredible but also sad moment he belted out a note near Newcastle, New South Wales has been captured and posted on social media.
The region has been ravaged by bushfires with acres of land scorched and wildlife including koalas killed.

While remarkable, Marvin's ability to mimic a siren is also heartbreaking as it highlights the desperate state of the country this fire season.

There are currently more than 100 fires burning across the state of NSW, with 60 blazes not yet contained and eight at emergency level.
Marvin was captured in footage by Gregory James who posted a video to the Hunter Valley Facebook page.

Many users were amazed by the bird's song. Others commented on the devastating circumstances in which it was learnt.
