BATTLESTAR PEGASUS BUILD LOG 1

Welcome to Part 1 of my Moebius Models, 1/4105 Battlestar Pegasus model build. This scale model build represents the Battlestar Pegasus as seen in the Re-Imagined Battlestar Galactica series (2003)

This video focuses exclusively on the Battlestar Pegasus flight pods.

Sadly, Moebius Models chose to add forced perspective decals instead of open flight pods. In order to make the model more accurate those need to be opened up.

The first step is to remove all the supports and mounting pegs...which seem like overkill once you've actually removed them and the flight pods don't collapse.

Once those are out it's simply a matter of removing the brass photo-etch flight pod interiors from their sprues.

Paragrafix Modeling Systems did a wonderful job on these brass photo-etch accessories. The fit is near perfect and the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

The Paragrafix photo-etch set also includes detail pieces for the launch tube 'spacer'. The portion that separates the upped and lower landing bays.

the accessory set also includes detail pieces for the connecting arms...another piece of detail Moebius Models chose to omit from the Battlestar Pegasus model kit.

I hope you enjoyed today's video detailing the modifications to the Battlestar Pegasus flight pods to allow for the addition of brass photo-etch parts, from Paragrafix Modeling Systems.
