In this episode our hosts Vic Whateley and Marcus discuss the mysterious ghost town of Portlock, Alaska. The town of Portlock is located on the southern edge of the Kenai Peninsula. Named after Nathaniel Portlock, a British ship captain who sailed there in 1786, the town was a cannery town in the early-twentieth century. The residents of the town purportedly fled in masse in the 1950s after a number of unsolved murders and disappearances believed to be the result of a aggressive Bigfoot the locals called, The Nantiinaq or “Big Hairy Man.” Listen as our hosts break down this amazing story!
