Section 8 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects everyone in Canada from unlawful search and seizure. An entry into your house is presumptively unlawful if done without a warrant. There are some circumstances where the presumption can be rebutted by the state and it's important to know about these to understand your rights.
