Should Private Property Rules Change When The Property Is For Public Use?

While driving home last night from filming Antifa in Portland, I was thinking about the Oregon City Police threatening flag wavers with trespass if they parked in the shopping center parking lot. They said that the property owner of the parking lot did not want rally goers to park there. Since the parking lot is for the public to use for MANY reasons, should that be possible? Should a property owner be able to restrict others from using the property if the property’s sole purpose is to accommodate the public? What about the social media giants? I dunno! What do you think!?
