The Electoral College-Federalist no. 68

In this paper, Hamilton describes the system involved in the electoral college with very little contention from his dissenters. Electors are to be completely independent of the government and only accountable to the people themselves. This adds a layer of security to the election process and ensures a decentralization of power in elections.
