Amazon Acquires MGM for $8.45 Billion In Desperate Grasp for Content

Amazon makes the largest media splash it could by snatching up a once prestigious Movie Company Metro Goldwyn Mayer for what looks like a massive sum of $8.45 Billion, but if their franchises hadn't been driven into the ground in recent years, that would have been closer to 11 Digits.

It's a play at the massive back catalogue of Film and Television to dump on Amazon Prime and bank off pumping out subpar James Bond, Rocky and Legally Blonde (yes that's happening) sequels/prequels without the need to develop something of their own. If they were concerned about doing something for the love and betterment of the industry, they would have made their own properties into something worthwhile. Instead just buy up a withered cast of has been properties and further the downfall of Hollywood.
