A young woman from Tucumán, Argentina, thought she had adopted a kitten, but found that the animal she was raising, in fact, was a wild cougar. Florencia Lobo found Tito and his little female sister, whom she named Dani, during a day of fishing with the brothers. She heard the meows, took the animals home and took care of them until Dani died, a week later. Flor continued with Tito, with whom she slept every day. A while later, she noticed that the kitten was walking weird and consulted a vet, who discovered his true identity. "The vet couldn't say what it was, but he suspected that Tito was no ordinary cat," Flor told the local newspaper El Tucumano. "I looked for other professionals, everyone wanted to charge me between 6,000 and 18,000 pesos to operate their paw". Luckily, the pet's "mother" was able to contact a specialist in the Horco Molle reserve who, through photos, confirmed that Tito is a puma from Yaguarundi, a species considered to be wild (that is, it should not be domesticated). With the help of the Argentine Animal Rescue Foundation (FARA), Tito returned to nature, which is his natural habitat. In a publication made last Friday (15) on social networks, FARA professionals explained that the animal is three months old and that it will receive treatment for the leg injury before being reinserted to the reserve of Horco Molle.
