Welcoming a Newborn Elephant Calf

n this video, taken at Dzanga bai in 2002, group of forest elephants react to a newborn calf. The animals scream and give off loud rumbles in excitement and seem impatient to touch, smell, and come close to the new arrival. In all the excitement the mother seems to be having a hard time keeping the baby close to her.
