NBAF: What can we learn from the past?

This video looks at America's greatest man-made disaster, The Dust Bowl, and the lessons learned that can be applied today. Why is our government and the state of Kansas putting a BSL-4 Animal laboratory in the middle of our beef belt? A leak from NBAF, in Manhattan, KS, would be a catastrophe. 14 known FMDv (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) leaks have occurred from these laboratories world wide, including from the the laboratory NBAF is replacing, Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC), which is located on an island off of New York. In addition, at PIACD alone, a 2008 GAO report found 6 other known FMDv leaks within the facility.
