A Rifleman's ball loading block, shaped like a miniature "bread board" or anything you like. Made of wood, it is drilled with holes, to snugly hold your lubricated patched round balls. Before hunting, grease your patch, center it over a hole, press the ball into the patch, and seat it into the hole using a short starter. Push it until the ball protrudes below. This protruding bulge can be quickly centered on the muzzle, and the patched ball rammed home with the starter.
