Dominic West's wife reflects on marriage 'ups and downs' amid Lily James drama

Catherine Fitzgerald, Dominic West's wife, has spoken out about the couple's "ups and downs" after the drama surrounding photos of West and Pursuit of Love co-star Lily James together in Rome in October 2020.

Fitzgerald opened up about her relationship with her husband for the first time since the pair released a joint statement in October 2020.

Following the Daily Mail's published images, Dominic and his wife posed for photos outside their home before releasing a handwritten statement describing that "Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you."

Fitzgerald recently opened up about their relationship in a new interview, explaining their "wonderful love affair" when they met at university in Dublin.

She described the early stages of their relationship as follows: "We would look over Dublin, reading poetry to one another with the mountains in the distance. We had all the time in the world to explore the pubs and back streets and walk the canal."

She told The Irish Independent that she and West separated after spending one summer together, but they reunited years later and have now been together for ten years now.

She also mentioned the problems they've had in their marriage, referring to the drama that ensued after the photo of West and James surfaced in October of last year.

"It's had its ups and downs of course, like everybody, but we are totally devoted to each other and to our full, vibrant family life together," she said of their union.

West is currently starring James in the BBC's three-part period drama The Pursuit of Love, where the two are said to have grown close.
