The Morris Minor wiring and electrical system were fine back in the 50s and 60s, but connections age and things start to behave strangely. I replaced the entire wiring harness and added fuse blocks and additional ground circuitry to provide better performance and reliability.

I have always had a fascination with British cars and have owned many of them. I first saw my Morris Minor 1000 van (LCV) on eBay in 2008 being offered for sale by a "specialty" car dealer in South Carolina named Turkey. I showed my wife the ad and she said "We've gotta have that." She's a good sport. I never met Turkey face-to-face during this transaction, but he shared my interest in quirky little cars. Turkey had imported the car from New Zealand where it started life as a municipal vehicle in Rotorua and was restored by a custom trail bike builder, https://www.jeffsonbikes.co.nz, to be a rolling advertisement for his business. The truck apparently arrived new in NZ as a CKD or complete knock down, that is, it was shipped disassembled and reassembled on arrival at its destination. After driving it for about eight years, In 2017, I turned it over to Axiom Restorations, https://www.axiomresto.com, for a complete frame off resto. As planned, they gave it back to me with engine and tranny just sitting in place and I did all the detail work to get it back on the road, a process that took about a year. My Morris Minor restoration is an ongoing, rolling project.
