Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals issues interesting ruling on criminalization of speech and the use of the “N-Word”.​

• The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals issues a new opinion in USA vs. Bartow over the use of the “n-word” and criminal charges. ​
• In the case, stemming from a 2018 incident, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Jules A. Bartow was charged with a crime for using the N-word towards a store employee. ​
• Review of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals opinion, which analyzes free speech and “fighting words” and determines that this case did not amount to criminal conduct.​
