Another hymn that speaks so clearly about the cross and Christ’s sacrifice, I Stand Amazed is a personal favorite. It’s been a song I’ve come back to over the years as a mainstay hymn in many a worship set. To stand in amazement of something to me means just pausing, reflecting, and being in awe of it. That is what the work of Jesus on the cross should do for all of us: it should lead us into wonderment every time we consider it. “My song shall ever be” is a reminder that this hope isn’t just for yesterday or today or tomorrow…it stands for ALL eternity.
