The waterfall, waterfall, waterfall, waterfall, jump, catadupa or cataract is a geomorphological formation in which a watercourse runs over an erosion-resistant rock, forming steep steps.

Cataract - It has this name when the waterfall is of great flow and in the form of a curtain. The extreme force of the water corrodes the rocks in the lower part of the cataract, until it forms a kind of pool.

Salto - It has this name when the fall is in the form of a splash, and in an uninterrupted fall from a great height.

Cascade - It has this name when the fall is from a mass of rocks of irregular slope, in the vertical direction, with which the water slides over a series of rugged slopes.
