Reptile breath
Reptiles depend almost exclusively on lung breathing. The lungs of reptiles are more complex and efficient than those of amphibians, with a greater number of internal chambers and alveoli.

In most reptiles, a negative pressure mechanism is responsible for the ventilation of the lungs. A movement of the ribs and the body wall expands the chest cavity, decreasing the pressure in the lungs and drawing air into them. The air is expelled by the forward movement of the ribs and the body wall, which compresses the lungs.
