The streak-eared bulbul is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is found from Thailand and northern and central Malay Peninsula to southern Indochina. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. The streak-eared bulbul was originally described in the genus Criniger.

The chicks left the eggs today this morning. Parents flew to find food for them. When they arrived at the nest they saw ants beginning to bite their babies. Both parents helped to pull ants out of the nest. They take a long time to peck until the ants are gone.
