TRUE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS AND INTERCESSION
Prophets not only understood God's words and spoke them to others, they also gained God's ear. Today we explore that profound relationship between the prophetic and intercession….
It was a special privilege of the true Old Testament prophets to be allowed to stand in the council of the Almighty to ‘hear’ His words. This access to God’s ‘hearing ear’ ensured them of the accuracy and authority of the prophecies they spoke. This access also gave them a ‘privilege to God’ as they interceded on behalf of their people, ensuring the success of their intercession. God spoke to them and they spoke to God. Both of these aspects need to be kept in mind if we are to gain a true understanding of what a prophet is and his function and what true intercession is and how the privilege of interceding brings about divine change….both bring ‘Divine will’ just in different ways…..
