Good evening, I’m still reporting on the coup.
You can’t make this stuff up.
The Washington Examiner is reporting that at UCLA a black student is claiming that automatic soap dispensers on campus are racist because they don’t “see” the hands of a black person.
The student said that black students were forced to show their palms to get the automatic dispenser to dispense soap, because their palms were light colored.
Soap dispensers don’t dispense soap based on the color of someone’s skin. They dispense soap because a motion detector in the dispenser detects the motion of someone’s hands beneath the dispenser.
Just about everyone who has had to deal with the motion detectors that turn on water to wash your hands, flush toilets or dispense paper towels has dealt with recalcitrant motion detectors. You often see people waving frantically at these unruly devices to get them to work.
What is incredible is that anyone would accuse a soap dispenser of being racist, but this is unfortunately the abyss our society is headed into at breakneck speed.
If a white person doesn’t get a job and the person who gets that job is black the rejected applicant often believes that the reason they were not chosen is because the employer wanted more “diversity” or in other words hired a black applicant because the employer needed more minorities in the work force.
By the same token if a black person doesn’t get a job and a white person does, the black person often believes that the employer didn’t hire them because the employer is racist.
For employers it is a lose-lose situation no matter who they hire because the losing applicants assume that the decision was based on race.
If a white cop shoots a black woman who is attempting to kill another woman, the cop didn’t shoot to prevent a murder and protect an innocent life, but because he is a racist. It sounds absurd, but that argument is being made by community leaders all across the nation.
The soap dispenser issue proves how deeply entrenched is this idea that everything is a matter of race.
In Greensboro, North Carolina a story about removing a white man from the Greensboro Zoning Commission went viral and appeared in the media not just across the country but across the world.
The Zoning Commission is a volunteer job where citizens meet for hours every month to make decisions and recommendations on zoning requests. It is a tedious, boring job and doesn’t pay a dime.
But the story went viral because the incident that prompted the removal of white Zoning Commissioner Tony Collins involved a black woman. The black woman asked Collins repeatedly to be referred to as Dr. and Collins refused. It was a heated exchange because the woman Carrie Rosario, who is a doctor of public health in health education, continued to interrupt Collins demanding that he refer to her as Dr. which Collins wouldn’t do. Neither behaved admirably.
But the reason that Collins was removed from the Zoning Commission was not because he had been rude and obstinate. It is, in fact, not uncommon to see bad behavior at Zoning Commission meetings. He was removed because he is a white man who was rude to a black woman.
The Greensboro City Council made it abundantly clear that the crime Collins committed was not being rude, but showing disrespect to a black woman.
Collins was accused, condemned and convicted of exhibiting “white privilege and entitlement.” No mention was made by city council members that Rosario had interrupted Collins repeatedly, but showing disrespect to a black woman was a sin that the City Council could not tolerate even long enough to hear Collins’ side of the story or to offer him a chance to resign.
According to the ruling of the Greensboro City Council, people speaking at meetings in Greensboro have to be treated differently according to their gender and race. Black women are allowed to interrupt speakers and make demands and those demands have to be met.
It is worth noting that in this case a black man on the Zoning Commission repeatedly called Rosario, “Ms. Rosario.” She did not interrupt him and the City Council didn’t remove him from the Zoning Commission.
So, don’t be surprised if the company that manufactured the soap dispensers used at UCLA doesn’t settle a lawsuit with a large payment to all the black students at UCLA for the racist nature of their soap dispensers. If such a lawsuit is filed the company will have no choice but to settle because facts no longer matter, if black students “feel” they are disrespected by the soap dispensers that will be enough.
I’m still reporting from just outside the citadel of world freedom. Good Day.
