welsh corgi pembroke

The welsh corgi pembroke [Note] is a breed of dog native to Wales, in addition to being the official breed of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, which has seven specimens and a quarter of her palace dedicated mainly to her "companions". [citation needed]

Created for work since 920, they were initially used for herding cattle, hunting rats and guarding farms. It is speculated that their history is not linked to that of the Swedish Vallhunds, possibly taken to Great Britain by the Vikings. Later in history, they came to be seen as companion dogs, although they were still used for work. The taste for biting remains a common trait for this shepherd breed, which makes its training difficult. Physically it has a colorful and short coat, its snout is compact and shorter than that of the corgi and the lack of tail is a hereditary trait.
