Do you have some old cups hanging around that you want to give a little makeover? This is a fun and different way to give your dishes a unique makeover. There's a good chance you have most of the supplies in your house. Even if you don't have the supplies in stock, it is fairly inexpensive to try out! The marbling effect is accomplished with only warm water and nail polish so you don't have to worry about getting a lot of supplies. It's also a craft where perfection isn't important because if you don't like how it turns out you can always use nail polish remover and warm water to fix it up or even start over.

Materials Needed:

- Plain Cups
- Nail Polish
- Old Bowl
- Warm Water
- Cocktail Stick/Paintbrush
- Plastic Sheet
- Nail Polish Remover

Directions:

Once you have selected your color scheme for your cups, you should set up your work area so you don't have to fumble with anything while you work. Have your polish ready and the plastic sheet set up so your cups and saucers can dry. Start by filling your bowl with warm water. Pour a few drops of nail polish into the warm water and stir using your paintbrush. Don't mix it too much! Dunk your cup into the water and swirl it through the color until you are happy with what is left on the cup, then place it on the sheet to dry. If you find the polish is beginning to harden, peel it off and get some new warm water. Also, you can use polish remover to touch up any spots you don't like or if your pattern took a strange turn. Once you are happy with the pattern leave them to dry overnight. To keep them looking perfectly marbled, keep them out of the dishwasher.
