This Little Light of Mine

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
and out of darkness I shall rise
A glimmer of hope alive in my heart
and pray that I am wise

This little soul of mine, I’m gonna treasure the gift
not gonna sell for fame or wealth
Temporary illusions destroy so many
the devils hide in stealth

This little heart of mine, I’m gonna let it love
the greatest power to combat squalor
Emptiness diminishes so much more than hope
and leaves an empty pallor

This little brain of mine, I’m gonna let it think
thoughts go round and clarity comes through
Awakening from deception and from pain
separate false from true

This little life of mine, I’m gonna let it live
bring some purpose to this place
Make a difference in someone’s life
and maybe a smile on their face

This little hand of mine, I’m gonna let it write
and may my words reach a few readers
As this uprising is now unfolding
we stand strong as new found leaders
