This 6.5x52 stick features a dark brown very oily, thick, satin wrapper with a firm pack, small veins, tight invisible seams, a large triple cap and potent sweet earth and straight tobacco aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with medium bodied flavors of a light leathery earth, quickly overshadowed by a huge blast of pepper zing and cayenne spice, building all through the long finish. The first third brings a few changes, toning down the pepper and spice just a little bit adding a fleeting cream and coffee just on the draw. Burn is excellent, draw is very good, ash is holding in a solid chunk. 1/2 way in at 40 minutes, the 2nd third continues to shift, going to a slightly mellower but still long pepper finish with the coffee coming up stronger on the draw and a bit of strength added in. Ending at 1:20 the last third amps up strength to medium-full with the smoke going quite warm from the band point back and a deeper earth taking over on the finish.
