A Christian life is total commitment, total surrender, and total obedience.

Gospel is not about self-help, it's about self abandonment

We are like Peter when we knew Christ, very determined, very zealous. But like Peter, we do not know the true meaning of following Jesus. We do not want the cross.

We have to know that total surrender is at the cross. Cross is death. And without death, there will be no resurrection.

White flag is used as surrender because in China white was associated with death and mourning. Surrendering is Dying. To surrender to Christ is Dying to Self.
