DIY Farmhouse TV Stand &/or Sofa Table

Hey Everyone!

This was fun build and a special build. My sister-in-law asked me to make a narrow TV stand for her son. Something that he will have for a long time. She could have purchased something online, but wanted me to build it so it would be something special just for him. And who doesn't like handmade items!

In the picture she sent, the bottom shelf was higher up, the base was built with nothing but 2x4s with the top and bottom shelf made with 1x5s. There was not X design on the back. (Before I started to stain this project, I decided to add that just for looks. I think it turned out very nice. ) I built the top and sat it aside and started to work on the base, I noticed that it was going to be too narrow and end up being too top heavy with the height that she though she wanted and once I sat the finished top on the base, it was not appealing to the eye. So after taking a break and rethinking the design, I decided in this version.

So without further ado, here is the build! It was easy and can totally be customized. If you want to make it taller and turn it into a sofa table, it will be super easy to do. This also can be a entry table if you want to make it shorter. This guy is 52in long, 32 in high and 13.5ins wide.
