I'LL BE HOME IN THE MORNIN' [BMI]

Originally recorded in 1986, my Grandmother, Lela Ethel Burgess-Nalley, had died a few years before. If you notice, my copyright is 1974. I wrote this song 10+ years prior to Grandma's death. The inspiration was Grandma telling me when she was in the room when 'her' mother died...hearing her mother's last words... 'God Bless you...meet me in heaven'. [As accounted in my book, 'Raised-Up Hard in the Georgia Pines'...available online and ebooks]. The testimony of my Great-Grandmother to my Grandma made a deep impression on me. Then, when it was Grandma's time to die, I was the only one with her as she 'passed on'. I knew, because of her profession of faith in Jesus, and because her life bore 'fruit' as she lived for Christ... I knew, she 'Would Be Home in the Mornin'!
