IOC is prohibiting political protesting during the Olympic Games

The reason why they are doing this, according to the IOC, is because the vast majority of athletes do not consider political statements to be appropriate. What are they going to do in the event that some American athletes decide they want to make political statements during the course of the National Anthem or during the Games themselves?
