AG Merrick Garland is opening an DOJ investigation into the Minneapolis police for systemic policing issues. If we are having a discussion about policing in the United States, we have to discuss the entirety of it.

In Columbus, Ohio a teenaged black girl was shot and killed by police as she lunged at another teenaged black girl with a large knife. It was immediately framed as “racist cop murders black child” and the media ran with their ideological narrative.

We cannot have a conversation about police reform if the discussion is framed in ideological narratives.
