20210417 Boycotts and Cancel Culture - The Daily Summation

Are boycotts and the like, and cancel culture the same thing?

Not by ANY MEANS in my view. If I choose to not support a given corporation or other entity with my time or money, that's what we can readily term "market feedback." My reason is generally beside the point.

Granted, my not supporting a company because I don't like the way the company operates, is technically different from doing so because I don't like their products or services.

Still it's equally reasonable.

I may even tell others why I'm doing what I'm doing. If they decide to do likewise though, we're still not in the realm of cancel culture.

I (and I hope, those who act as a result of my counsel) am (are) NOT trying to put the entity out of business. I'm just registering my displeasure with them for whatever reason.

I'm CERTAINLY not trying to erase their very existence.

This is what I talk about on today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
