A wolfdog is a hybrid canid resulting from the mating between a dog and a she-wolf (Canis lupus familiaris x Canis lupus lupus) or between a wolf and a bitch (Canis lupus lupus x Canis lupus familiaris) (also called crocotte1). We also call wolfdogs the members of lines resulting from the reproduction of wolfdogs among themselves. This offspring, once stabilized can form a breed of domestic wolfdog.
