That gorgeous pink hue is a hallmark of the flamingo. But have you noticed that flamingo chicks don't have pink feathers right away? It takes a couple of years, but they will develop their color with time! As they get older, flamingos will eat algae and invertebrates filled with pigments that turn their feathers pink.
