Chaplin's funny skating rink
The "Skating Rink" released on December 4, 1916 was filmed and released by Chaplin in the "Mu Quer Company". This film is also the most widely circulated and most popular one of Chaplin's early films. Although Chaplin only mentioned one sentence about "Skating Rink" in "My Autobiography", the depth of the film's influence was reflected in the later "Modern Times". Although we all know that the falling and fighting in the movie are arranged in advance, "The Skating Rink" is definitely the "highest-tech movie" shot by Chaplin.
In "Skating Rink", Charlo finds a job as a waiter in a restaurant, but this mischievous little tramp has trouble doing things wherever he goes. At the beginning of the film, Charlo gave Gumbel to check out. He played a trick to get more tips and was immediately seen through by Gumbel, which also paved the way for the "struggle" between the two. Charlo kept fighting against another waiter, causing a mess in the restaurant. In order to run into the kitchen, Charlo overturned the dishes prepared for the guests, so Charlo picked up the soap directly from the floor, put it in the plate and served it to the table.
