On This Episode:

- Seattle, Minneapolis, and Oakland all “defunded" their police departments and have had to reallocate funds to police following rising crime rates.

- Texas Senator John Cornyn wants to know why Vice President Kamala Harris has not been to the border yet.

- Costco is back to giving free samples!

- Michigan is seeing a spike in COVID cases again and the CDC Director is saying they should shut the state down again.

- States across the country are pausing the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after 6 women developed blood clots after getting the shot.

The Big Story:

The Chief of Police and the officer involved in the Daunte Wright shooting have both resigned from their positions. The Mayor has appointed an acting Chief of Police.

Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib says that Daunte Wright was met with aggression and violence and is calling for a complete end to policing and incarceration because she operates on ideology, not fact.

The police officer that shot Daunte Wright made an awful mistake. She will be charged and will be held accountable for her actions. Making a mistake is one thing, but trying to excuse the mistake by saying it was a high-tension environment will not fly. This is the moment police officers are supposed to be trained for.
