When you working in Azure , you are working in a Hyper-V environment that is hosted in Microsoft Data Centers.  Azure is backend to products such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and so many other products.  Azure is the foundation.  Now when you are moving your workloads to Azure, you are uplifting your current infrastructure into Azure.  This is known as a Lift-and-Shift approach.  We will cover that in other articles.  Right now we are concerned about the performance of our workloads.  That is where the Azure Monitor comes into the picture.  IAAS which is Infrastructure as a Service is working with VM (Virtual Machines) on Azure.   We need to understand the performance for our applications.  We also need to be alerted to inconsistencies that occur within the applications.  Also, we need an in-depth reporting mechanism to help use to forecast and contract the data that is transmitted within the applications.  This is done through the Azure Monitor.  In this short video we go over some of the basics about Azure Monitor.
