Jazz Bass Shootout Fender MIM vs Sire V7 Marcus Miller PASSIVE tone test

Nice comparison of 2 Jazz style basses that are in direct competition with each other at a similar price point. It's the hot new contender, Sire Marcus Miller V7 vs. the established King of Jazz Fender MIM Jazz Bass. The Fender is actually a Deluxe Active Model that is now just passive with 2 USA Norstrand nj5f pickups. The Sire is demo'd in passive mode for this reason. Not only do we have the established bass vs. the newcomer, but it's light (Fender) vs. Heavy (Sire), Ash vs. Alder, Maple fretboard vs. Rosewood, 5 string vs. 4 string, Mexico (with American pickups) vs. Indonesia. Both basses have fresh strings. I personally dig the tones from both basses. I thought somehow the Ash bodied Sire might be my favorite but for my money it's a draw. Both basses are played through the same patch on a Boss GT-10B processor direct USB into my computer with no post processing of any kind.
