This is the terrifying moment a six-foot shark comes within metres of beach-goers, forcing swimmers to flee the water.

Shocking footage shows the huge predator stalking the shore of Yarra Bay in Sydney, Australia, yesterday.

The shark appears to be injured in the video and it is seen rolling around in the water, unable to leave the coastline.

Kind-hearted bystanders decided to wade into the water in a bid to guide the animal back out to sea.

One man can be heard shouting: "There's something wrong with it guys, just let it go."

Meanwhile another person can be heard saying 'watch it, it could swing!'

The injured shark then returns to the shore before falling onto its side, The Sun reports.
It comes after a massive 900lb tiger shark was killed by fishermen on a tiny boat off the coast of Sydney after a 45-minute struggle.

Captain Paul Barning and the crew of the Dark Horse reeled the big fish on board before taking it to be weighed in at a nearby port.

Shocking images provided to the Daily Mail show one of the fishermen holding onto the shark’s fin as it hangs off the end of the boat.

The creature barely fit onto the deck as it was taken to shore after a 45-minute battle during which the fishermen hauled it on board.

Tiger sharks can grow up to 7.62 metres long and sometimes weigh more than 800kgs.

They are known to move down Australia’s east coast during the warmer months, following food as it moved with the current.
