TIRZ's NOW subject to Texas Open Meeting Act, Sen Paul Bettencourt SB244

On April 1st, 2021, Sen. Paul Bettencourt (SD-7, Harris County) got the Subject of his first Bill. #SB244 passed in the Texas Senate session. This bill adds Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ), Board of Directors, to the Texas Open Meetings Act.

Some TIRZs have property values in billions. This is a needed reform, so the public is fully informed on their activities.
