Coastal Combat Ship Live Fire with 57MM Naval Gun System

PACIFIC OCEAN (29 June 2018) The Littoral Combat Ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8) conducts a real fire drill with the ship's MK 110 MOD 0 57mm naval cannon system. The exercise was part of the Combat Systems Ship Qualifications Trials (CSSQT), during which the crew demonstrated the complete operability of the entire set of combat systems on the ship. LCS is a mission-focused, high-speed, agile and shallow draft combatant, designed for operations in the coastal environment, but fully capable of open sea operations. As part of the surface fleet, the LCS has the ability to contain and overcome evolving threats independently or within a network of surface combatants.
