Traffic Deputy Pursues Reckless Driver

Thursday, April 1 (this is no joke), Deputy Shon McGuigan attempted to stop a reckless driver in Micanopy. The driver, later identified as Matthew M. Richardson was on probation for a prior DUI and Fleeing and Eluding conviction. Richardson led deputies on a pursuit into Marion County where he was apprehended after a successful PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique). He is currently in the Alachua County Jail with multiple charges and a $245,000 bond.
