My Aussie Best 01 Cattle Pool Mt Augustus Stunning View West Australia

Cattle Pool (Goolinee) is on the dirt road not far from Mt Augustus Tourist Park and near Mt Augustus (Burringurrah) about 1000km (600 miles) north of Perth. It has 6km (4 mile) walk to the top for stunning views of the area and various other walks. Cattle Pool is a very large permanent waterhole in the bed of the usually dry Lyons River up to about 3m (10 foot) deep at most. It was wonderful to swim in - warm on the top and nicely refreshing underneath, getting colder towards the bottom.
