I have the Austin XL 1000 and have cooked everything from low and slow briskets and venison jerky, to quick seared ribeye's and fish. It can literally do it all and I am 1000% satisfied but the main reason I am writing this review is to remind anyone considering buying one of these to read the instructions and follow safety precautions because they can be very dangerous. Most importantly, clean and ensure the fire pot is clear of pellets/ashes before each use and if you “set it and forget it”, move it away from your home. If you have a “flame out” occur, follow the directions for cleaning out/re-igniting and make sure there is no hot smoldering pellets when you go to vacuum the ashes because the induced air will re-ignite the pellets, turning your shop vac into a blow torch. I highly recommend this pellet grill to anyone in the market and thanks for reading.
