Resurrection Analysis of a Genome

DID ANYONE PAY ATTENTION IN BIOLOGY CLASS? NO. SERIOUSLY.

Prepare to be astounded and amazed is that formulaic incantation in magic that prepares you to suspend disbelief, place a huge, opaque curtain, between what you know to be true, so that you can engage in fantasy. Let that sink in.

Perhaps, I was lucky, because we had a really deep into science type of science teacher in middle school, and when we learned about viruses, we learned that they were the smallest biological particles--actually viriols are, but this was the 1970s--and that they were the most abundant particles in the world. I know that if you took biology, as required, at a Jesuit high school, somebody like our Father "It's in the Book, Guy" Bauer, S.J. told you that viruses were the most abundant biological particle in the world. And, I know that at the most competitive college in the Commonwealth of Virginia, even freshman Biology 100 Professor Nye told us that viruses were the most abundant biological particles in the world. Let that process.

Maybe you are that man who had been lying by the pool for a long, long time, sick and can't help yourself for 38 years, and need somebody else, also in need of a healing, to stop, pause, notice you, and help you out, lift you up, and place your broken body into the healing pool, but there is a natural and logical consequence in mathematics that should have donned upon you long ago, if not upon the emergence of a pandemic pathogen in the form of a virus, but I ain't yo momma.
