U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz garrison leaders signed a proclamation kicking off Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. The full text of the proclamation reads: April is National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. The Department of the Army’s 2020 SAAPM theme is: “Building Cohesive Teams Through Character, Trust & Resilience. Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission.” Although we recognize preventive efforts during this month, make no mistake this theme will remain a year-round commitment for every member of the USAG RP Team. Regardless of rank, grade, or job specialty, we will take action to protect our people and our mission. Leaders will set and enforce standards that ensure a healthy command climate for all Soldiers. Together, we all will advance the Army’s mission to eliminate sexual assault by creating an environment where negative behaviors are not tolerated, condoned, or ignored. We are committed to awareness education, bystander intervention, and ensuring offenders are held appropriately accountable. Every Soldier, Army Civilian, and Family member deserves to be and will be treated with dignity and respect. Sexual assault, sexual harassment, and retaliation harm the force and have no place in our Army.
