Teachers In California Will Start Providing In Person Learning To The Migrants That Are Being Held At The San Diego Convention Center.
This While Students Of The SDUSD Are Still Learning From Home In An Online Only Format - Due To Covid-19 Concerns.

As Of This Week, Nearly 700 Teenagers From Different Latin American Countries Are At The Convention Center And Will Be Provided An Education For The Duration Of Their Stay, Which Is Expected To Last Through July.
Roberto Carrillo, A Principal At The County Office Of Education, Said That About 13 Teachers Have Volunteered To Work With The Migrant Students.

However Many People Are Speaking Out Against The Move Like The San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond \Who Said,
"We Have 130,000 Kids Who Haven't Been Allowed In A Classroom For Over A Year In The San Diego United School District...I Wish Every Child In San Diego County Was Allowed The Same Opportunity For In-person Teaching,"

Parents Are Also Questioning Why Taxpaying Families In The School District Are Stuck Learning From Zoom, While Migrants Are Being Taught In Person.

According To The Districts Website - SDUSD Students Will Be Learning Online Through April 12th - And Will Then Move To A Combination Of In Person And Online Learning.
