A 16-year-old Indian girl was tied up, beaten and paraded in public with the man accused of raping her.
The girl was allegedly raped by the 21-year-old on Sunday, after which villagers carried out the gruesome procession.
Video shows them being tied together, beaten and forced to walk through their village in the predominantly tribal Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh as people chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ (‘long live Mother India’).
Six people have been arrested. A case has been registered against the man accused of raping the girl, while another has been brought against her relatives over the appalling parade.
